Ibrahim Appointed Professional Studies Advisor at the University of Cambridge

Ibrahim Buhari Architects is proud to announce that our founder, Ibrahim Buhari, has been appointed as a Professional Studies Advisor on the Part 3 course at the University of Cambridge. This appointment recognises Ibrahim’s extensive experience in architectural practice, education, and professional examination, and further strengthens the practice’s ongoing engagement with architectural education at the highest level.

The Part 3 qualification represents a critical milestone in an architect’s journey, bridging academic study with professional practice. As Professional Studies Advisor, Ibrahim will play a key role in supporting students as they navigate the complexities of professional competence, ethics, contracts, procurement, and practice management. His appointment reflects Cambridge’s commitment to grounding architectural education in rigorous, real-world professional insight.

Ibrahim’s dual engagement in education and practice ensures that teaching and examining are informed by current professional realities, while the studio benefits from ongoing dialogue with emerging architects and academic discourse.

Commenting on the appointment, Ibrahim said:

“Professional education is where the values of architecture are tested against the realities of practice. I’m delighted to be working with Cambridge on the Part 3 course. Supporting candidates at this stage of their development is both a responsibility and a privilege.”

These roles reinforce Ibrahim Buhari Architects’ longstanding commitment to mentorship, knowledge exchange, and contributing to the future of the profession. By engaging directly with Part 3 education and examination, the practice remains closely connected to evolving professional standards and the next generation of architects.

We look forward to the conversations, collaborations, and insights that will emerge from this work, and to continuing our involvement in shaping architectural practice through both design and education.
